About Us

Allison Zang   ~   Owner/Instructor

Allison is a third generation Pilates instructor, with over 1000 hours of pilates training.  Allison began her career in 2005 in the field of exercise physiology at the National Center for Health Fitness in Washington, DC. She has experience in workplace wellness, cardiac rehabilitation, research and health and wellness counseling. Allison holds a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds a certification in nutrition coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, located in New York City.

Pilates has been a big part of Allison’s life since 2001 when she attended her first group mat classes while home on summer vacation from the University of Pittsburgh. She returned to Pittsburgh and wanted to continue taking classes and was not able to find one in the area. She felt the need to bring Pilates to the University and attended a teacher training that winter to extend her love of the method to follow students. Allison completed the comprehensive teacher training offered from Core Dynamics Pilates in Santa Fe, NM. This program was created in the Eve Gentry tradition.  Eve is one of the Pilates elders who studied with Joe Pilates. Allison has taken specialty workshops from Peak Pilates. She completed her apprenticeship at Wellspring Studio now known as Harmony Pilates in Pittsburgh.

Allison has competed a Pre and Post Natal Pilates teacher training with Jennifer Gianni from Fusion Pilates in Asheville NC. She is a certified Pink Ribbon Pilates Instructor.

Allison is also a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She did her RYT training with YogaFit, a program designed to bring yoga to the fitness community. She loves to incorporate elements in Pilates sessions. In her free time Allison volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association and participates in Harrisburg’s Memory Walk in honor of her Grandmother. She can also be found running, downhill skiing and practicing yoga.

Allison brings all of her hard-working, energetic, fun-loving personality to her sessions.

Kerri Feldman   ~  Instructor

Keri has always enjoyed fitness and exercise.  It started with her as a young girl doing gymnastics and as an adult developed a passion for pilates and yoga.  This passion really ignited while she was pregnant with her first child in 1999.  She was looking for a gentle and nurturing way to stay in shape during her pregnancy and that is when she knew pilates and yoga were the right for her.  Over the last 12 years she has been a regular to pilates and began thinking about a possible career change that would include her love of pilates and being physically active.

Keri really values the idea that pilates isn’t just about exercise but a way of thinking about the mind, body and spirit working together.  Her pilates practice has brought her increased awareness of healthy eating and cooking is certainly one of her hobbies!  Outside of the pilates studio and her kitchen, Keri enjoys reading and scrapbooking.

Currently, Keri is student teaching at ABSolute Pilates while participating in a comprehensive teacher training program.  She promises to share her excitement about Pilates with you in order to help you achieve your health and fitness goals!

Donna Lucas   ~  Instructor

Push, push, push.  Harder, faster, stronger. That was Donna’s mantra year after year.  She has pushed herself in many areas of fitness:  running, biking, weight training.  While training for a triathlon 5 years ago many people around her were sustaining injuries…she didn’t want to be one of them.  She decided to integrate Pilates into her training routine.  She wanted her muscles to be strong and flexible.  She could see and feel the benefits very quickly.  She had a better awareness of her body, and felt longer, leaner, more pliable.  She was hooked.

What Donna likes about Pilates is that we are not building bulky muscles.  We’re working on those deep muscles, the ones that provide support and allow us to carry ourselves taller, that help us to look and feel stronger and more flexible.  It makes a difference in our daily lives.

As a busy mom of 4 kids and 2 young adults, she has always maintained that no matter how busy you are, you HAVE to make time for yourself physically.  You just do.  She has struggled over the years with that love/hate relationship with fitness and nutrition.  Do I really have time to work out?  I’d rather take a nap… so many other things to be done… I feel selfish…. it’s… such… an… effort.  And yet she has never regretted a workout:  that’s the love part!

As a Pilates teacher, Donna loves motivating and encouraging people to reach their goals, and then some.

Mary Myers   ~  Instructor

Mary’s lifelong devotion to fitness drew her to Pilates in 2006. Just months after taking her first class, she became aware of the many benefits of Pilates, noticing improvement in her overall well-being and posture as well as making her core stronger leading to improved performance of her other favorite activities including hiking, bicycling and kayaking. It seemed a natural progression for Mary to follow this new passion and become a Pilates instructor.

Mary loves the way Pilates can benefit everyone no matter their age or physical condition. She enjoys the rewards that come with teaching Pilates and helping students move better and feel better. She loves helping students understand how to use their mind and body together to improve core strength. . She believes there is no other exercise system that is gentle to the body while giving it a challenging workout. Her passion for Pilates, desire to help others enjoy its benefits and her commitment to continuing education has led her to further her teacher training through ABSolute Pilates.

Mary brings a warm smile and positive attitude into every class. She encourages her students to embrace the details and technique of Pilates.
